You customized your avatar when you made it. You didn't pay for it. You didn't complain. Why did you not refer to it as space barbie when you played dress up then? Why is it space barbie when the avatar customization came from the NEX sore? Just wondering why the double standard. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Fixed, good point, we did pay for the avatar customization. Or, for those who like to put too fine a point on it, "the right to access the server to play space barbie."

I can't be arsed to google more for you, but feel free to help yourself out of your own delusion. We did complain, and we called it names, though maybe the barbie nomer didn't come about right away.
You only prove my point. In all 3 links, the people liked the old space barbie more than the new space barbie. Thank you. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Originally by: Alex Sinai When I just created account I had no choice but to create character and dress it up. Even back then it seemed strange that game about space has so detailed character customization that you must do before entering the actual game. But I liked the character I created, get acquainted with it, got used to it and forgot about that character creator for good. Incarna reminded me that apart from face it have some kind of a body attached to it. Whatever.
I came into spaceships game. Not spaceshops game. If I would like to play dress up and walk the stage game I would chose Sims not EVE Online. It's not what we here for. And it never will be what people come here for.
You saying what people come here for makes it so. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Quote: Edit: If all is like you said why all the protests?
I personally protested over the possibility that the NEX store would contain non cosmetic items or items that bypassed currently player run production. When I protested, I made sure to say why. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

spending a lot of money and resources to put out a buggy horribly lit box for me to walk slowly around in and calling it an expansion and charging 80 dollars for a monocle....bad
why is this so hard to understand?
Its amazingly hard to understand TBH.
1. Some people are apparently asshurt over pre NEX avatars. 2. Incarna was buggy when it came out for me but the patch fixed the bugs. I have 2 gigs of ram and a ****ing sparkle vid card thats < 50USD and it runs great on a single client for me. I can understand not being able to run multiple clients, but running multiple clients is *supposed* to use more resources. 3. You don't have to spend a penny of real world money to get NEX items, you don't have to buy them at all. . Adapt and overcome or become a monkey on an evolution poster.

Quote: Plus opportunity costs. The effort CCP put into Avatar/NeX/SpaceBarbie is effort that didn't go into internet spaceships.
It is effort and opportunity cost that went towards the long term perpetuation of internet spaceships, however.
